Reports to: Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific
Position Summary:Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Business Unit Head for the Medical Devices division in the Asia Pacific region. The Business Unit Head will be responsible for driving the growth and profitability of the medical devices business, developing and executing regional strategies, and leading a high-performing team to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the business strategy for the medical devices division in the Asia Pacific region.
- Identify and capitalize on market opportunities to drive business growth.
- Ensure alignment of regional strategy with global business goals.
- Business Development:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, distributors, and regulatory bodies.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, acquisitions, and product launches.
- Conduct market analysis to understand competitive landscape and customer needs.
- Sales and Marketing:
- Oversee the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop pricing strategies and promotional programs to maximize market share.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the business units budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Monitor financial performance and implement measures to improve profitability.
- Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior management.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across multiple countries in the Asia Pacific region.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team.
- Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Regulatory and Compliance:
- Ensure all business activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and industry standards.
- Oversee quality assurance and regulatory affairs functions.
- Operational Excellence:
- Streamline operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement best practices in supply chain management, manufacturing, and distribution.
- Monitor and improve customer satisfaction levels.
- Innovation and Product Development:
- Collaborate with R&D and global teams to drive innovation and bring new products to market.
- Provide insights and feedback on product development based on regional market needs.
- Support clinical trials and product testing in the region.
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the medical device industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of driving business growth and profitability in the Asia Pacific region.
- Skills:
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong financial management and analytical skills.
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages relevant to the region are a plus.
- Certifications:
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are an advantage.
- Full-time position.
- Frequent travel within the Asia Pacific region.
- May require occasional travel to global headquarters and other regions.
