Job Summary:

Procurement Director AP, responsible for Direct Procurement, Indirect Procurement and Procurement Operations for AP Region (excluding Greater China).

Responsible for managing a high performing procurement team, management of procurement strategy, work alongside the senior leadership team, to ensure the function is operating in line with the objectives of the business to add value, mitigate supply chain risk and deliver cost savings.

A proven track record of strong leadership, business acumen, and strategic thinking in conjunction with outstanding ability to drive results are essential.

Total Spent:  The AP role has accountability of $500 million dollars (Japan, Korea, SEA and ANZ).

Key Relationships:

This role reports to Senior Director, Procurement International Markets.

There are 4 direct reports to this role: Procurement market leaders from Korea, SEA, ANZ and Japan.

Key Responsibilities:

Promoting the highest standards of safety, diverse & ethical practice in the organisation

Developing the next generation of procurement leaders and elevate the profile of procurement within the organisation

Building relationship and influencing internal and external stakeholders through effective identification, communication, and engagement strategies.

Promoting Inclusive leadership to embrace individuals, encourage two-way communication, give feedback and empowerment; create an environment where procurement team can be proactive, innovative, reflect on successes and failures and are encouraged to succeed, resulting in enhanced overall business performance.

Coaching & mentoring procurement team to deliver continuous improvement and added value

Creating and implementing best practice procurement vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance.

Ensuring that purchasing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs , which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market

Setting procurement teams objectives/KPI’s and monitor ongoing progress and performance

Leading Procurement team to deliver a series of benefit types, such as gross savings, rebate, cost avoidance, payment term increase etc by utilizing Ecolab procurement methodology “ Total Delivered Cost (TDC) Strategy”.

Responsible for Procurement budgets, forecasts, and cost estimating budgets

Reviewing sustainability and environmental strategies that impact on future ways of operating and ensure implementation where possible

Maintaining close working relationship with OBL, SC and R&D/OI leadership teams to support their strategic objectives to identify and prioritize cost-savings and efficiency opportunities for GMI (Gross Margin Improvement) projects

Working in close co-operation with divisions to support GTW (Grow to Win) Projects

Maintaining updated market information / trends and providing guidance and recommendations to divisions in order to support margin and top line growth

Establishing long term procurement strategy for assigned business scope

Preferred Requirements and skills:

Minimum 12 years work experience, thereof 6+ years of procurement experience (Direct and Indirect) with 5 years leading teams

Knowledge of sourcing and procurement tactics & strategies as well as a skill in “reading” the market

Strong leadership capabilities, Talent in negotiations and networking

Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers

Very good English language skills both oral and written

Bachelor’s degree in purchasing, engineering, chemistry, supply chain management or business administration.

Working hours: 2-3 evening per week may require late night calls to ensure alignment across International markets (with LA and IMEA procurement leaders) and also with the global procurement category calls.
