Director Benefits APAC

ROLE SUMMARY

We are a leading multinational corporation operating globally, with a strong presence in the Asia Pacific region (APAC). As part of our commitment to attracting and retaining top talent, we are seeking a highly experienced International Benefits professional to oversee our APAC market and support local leadership in design, compliance, and delivery of employee benefits. This is a strategic role that will contribute to our overall employee well-being and satisfaction, and ensure compliance with Pfizer’s Global initiatives. The position reports to the Senior Director, Global Benefits

Responsibilities:

Benefits Program Management for APAC for home country - Day to day benefit management and strategy to include but not limited to:

1. Develop and Execute Benefits Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive benefits strategy for Home Country and support local strategy for the APAC region and, ensuring alignment with the company's global benefits framework. This includes health and wellness programs, retirement plans, insurance coverage, and other employee benefits initiatives.

2. Regional Compliance: Stay up-to-date with the ever-changing laws and regulations related to employee benefits in the APAC countries where we operate. Ensure compliance with local legislation and adapt benefits programs accordingly in home country and collaborate with local PX, legal and compliance teams in APAC to mitigate any potential risks.

3. Benefits Program Management for home country: Oversee the operation of all employee benefits programs. This includes managing relationships with benefit providers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. Monitor program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements based on feedback and data analysis.

4. Employee Communications: Develop and implement effective communication strategies to educate employees about their benefits options and programs. Create engaging materials, such as brochures, presentations, and online resources, to help employees make informed decisions about their benefits5. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, brokers, and consultants to ensure seamless delivery of benefits services across the APAC region and home country. Evaluate vendor performance regularly and recommend changes if necessary.

Operational oversight APAC: coordinate with local benefit program managers as well as internal groups such as Finance, Digital, GBS and Procurement to provide expertise guidance and approvals based on Corporate Policy, to include but not limited to :

6. Employee Engagement: Collaborate with PX and Talent Acquisition teams to design and implement initiatives that enhance employee engagement and well-being. This may include organizing wellness challenges, employee assistance programs, and other initiatives aimed at improving work-life balance and overall satisfaction. Work with Colleague Wellness on prevention and wellness activities.

7. Benchmarking and Analysis: Conduct regular benchmarking and analysis of benefits programs in the APAC region to ensure competitiveness and alignment with industry standards. Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in employee benefits to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

APAC M&A Benefits Support 

8. Support any Benefit needs regarding M&A activities including working with M&A leads, local PX, external legal and actuaries and local vendors as needed.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in benefits management, preferably in a multinational organization or consulting firm.

- In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs, regulations, and best practices in the APAC region.

- Strong understanding of local compliance requirements and ability to navigate complex legal frameworks.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder management.

- Proven experience in vendor management and negotiation.

- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive decision-making.

- Ability to travel within the APAC region as required.
