ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Director, Production, Audible Studios APAC, is the most senior production executive of Audible in APAC (AU, IN, JP) overseeing the delivery of all our audiobook and original productions produced via our partner-studio network. In this role, you will set the vision and standards for all our output, including partner selection, cost management and readiness, while showcasing your ability to manage a creative team at a senior level within a corporate structure. Your remit will have a strong focus on delivering and iterating on Audible’s ambitious talent casting strategy in a rapidly changing media environment, as well as delivering a successful production service to the business by leading and developing a team of production-management specialists.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Director, Production Audible Studios, APAC sits within the wider APAC Regional Content team at Audible. Under the direction of this role, the Audible Studio’s team produces unique and diverse productions, ranging from single-voice audiobook recordings through to highly complex, A-list talent-lead multi cast scripted drama productions. Productions are originated by various other teams and are briefed in to the studios team who then deliver against the objective that was originally agreed when the project was commissioned, usually through high quality production techniques, ambitious and broad casting, and an efficient and cost-effective production model.
As Director, Production, Audible Studios APAC you will…
- Lead, develop, motivate, guide and coach the production management team across APAC, ensuring they have the tools they need, as they work with an external studio network to deliver against their key budget, timeline & output goals
- Work closely with APAC Programming Lead to oversee a roadmap of content production projects, coordinating prioritization and resourcing with internal and external stakeholders
- Partner with Content Operations to ensure the Production teams are setup for success with the latest/most effective tools and production trackers, while addressing bottlenecks by implementing industry and company best practices
- Manage and maintain strong production pipelines that serve creative and commercial objectives and KPIs in Australia, India and Japan
- Maintain regular open channels of communication with your counterparts across the global organisation, ensuring visibility and alignment on strategy, deal-making and problem-solving
- Use your team, influence and network to continue to build an external resource of high quality external/ third party production partners to support Audible’s output in Australia, India and Japan
- Provide support in all audio production matters for APAC stakeholders: point of technical reference, provides processes, guidelines & framework to ensure a best in class production
- Be accountable to internal stakeholders for tracking, delivery dates and budget (Production and Originals)
- Scope business and functional requirements for relevant stakeholders in order to create and enhance new systems, processes and tools, while working in conjunction with stakeholders to execute infrastructure expansion and ensure tech supports expansion and product features
- Support the team in their negotiation of agreements with acting and production talent at all levels and represent Audible’s commercial interests, along with personally negotiating high-profile complex talent deals
- Change Management: Own and communicate upcoming changes to operational standard work based on tech and product enhancements
- Communicate with stakeholders and tracking production status
- Represent the team and its interests internally and externally to industry and press
