JOb Purpose

Responsible for supporting the Director, MCH in identifying key opportunities and expanding MCH teams portfolio through proposal development and grant writing. He/she will also provide technical support to the Director in assessing and documenting progress and results of current and new projects in the portfolio. Committed to delivering high-impact, actionable research and help disseminate key learnings through presentations and peer-reviewed publications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the Director, MCH in manuscript writing of existing and new MCH research projects. Support the Director, MCH to identify and pursue research and implementation grants, aligning with organizational goals. Lead the creation and review of comprehensive research protocols, including designing data collection instruments and obtaining ethical approvals. Lead efforts to ensure the dissemination of project findings by actively publishing research outcomes in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals. Represent the organization in international and local conferences to disseminate project outcomes. Create and track project timelines for effective implementation of SOPs and guidelines, and an efficient monitoring system. Cultivate and manage relationships with international collaborators, stakeholders, and partners to ensure open communication and alignment of all resources and efforts. Provide liaising support to 1-2 projects through establishing coordination between the teams. Prepare donor reports for ongoing and new projects through liaising with project teams, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of project progress and outcomes to donors and funding agencies. Develop briefs, presentations, and reports that describe and interpret project findings and provide actionable insights. Supervise, manage, and mentor the project team, fostering open communication, motivation, and empowering team members to make informed and transparent decisions. Mentor, train, and groom team members to enhance their skills and capabilities in research, project management, and stakeholder engagement. To collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to share project findings, build relationships and expand the portfolio of the MCH program. Carry out any other ad-hoc tasks contributing to the overall success of the MCH program.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA)

Required Qualification

Master's degree in Public Health, Social Science, Epidemiology, International Development, or other related fields.

Required Experience

At least 5-8 years of relevant experience in grant and protocol writing, publications and partner engagement is highly preferable. Experience of working in low-middle-income settings is desirable.

Required Skills

High proficiency in scientific manuscript writing Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, respecting the contributions of others and collaborating to achieve common goals. Positive mindset, initiative, and drive to follow through with assigned tasks. Good listener and maintains accountability for their actions. Highly organized and able to effectively manage a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines even in challenging situations. Excellent analysis and report-writing skills.
