Manager / Senior Manager, Consumer, Retail & Hospitality Industry Cluster, Innovation & Enterprise

The Consumer, Retail & Hospitality (CRH) Industry Cluster at A*STAR's Innovation & Enterprise Group (I&E) is looking for problem solvers, innovators and self-starters to build a robust portfolio of commercially impactful innovation-based solutions for the consumer, retail and hospitality sectors. We collaborate closely with industry and ecosystem partners to accelerate the translational research journey, building IP and technology assets, prototypes, new products, processes and services.
The Manager / Senior Manager role will:
1. Report directly to the Deputy Director of CRH, and together, chart a strategy for the cluster, manage and deliver on the Cluster's performance and outcomes aligned with the Retail and Hotel industry transformation maps.
2. Build and leverage an ecosystem of industry partners, start-ups, academia, public agencies and industry associations to fuel and accelerate the translation of R&D and innovation for economic outcomes in Singapore.
3. Leverage strong domain and industry knowledge to understand the industry's aspirations and challenges and thereby design and execute differentiated strategies that leverage innovation, R&D and technology for growth.
4. Build trusted relationships with C-suite/management executives across the industry.
5. Engage with companies to understand their businesses - product/service offerings, technology needs, business strategy and R&D roadmap.
6. Identify promising enterprises and work with them to design, build and own their own brand of products through innovation and differentiation.
7. Structure deals and facilitate partnerships between companies and researchers/research units, to bring in new investments, products, and jobs to Singapore's economy.
8. Work closely with A*STAR's talents to build and strengthen technology assets and IP portfolio for commercial proliferation in the sectors.
The Manager / Senior Manager (CRH) may expect a diverse and varied career, developing skills in areas such as business development, marketing, intellectual property, licensing, planning, strategy, project management, leadership and a strong understanding of how to apply technology to make an impact.

Job Requirements
5+ years experience in innovation- or technology-related roles in the Consumer and Retail, and Hospitality sectors A science, technology, engineering & math (STEM) degree, MBA, or Masters/PhD is an added advantage. Able to appreciate and quickly understand new technologies, emerging trends and provide market assessment and their potential to be applied in different business context. Strong organisational and administrative skills. Resourceful and able to work with minimal supervision, independently and in a team. Willing, adaptable and flexible to take on required/necessary tasks beyond the job description. A self-starter and problem solver who can proactively address any situation. An effective and thoughtful communicator to address various stakeholders Manage key account relationships and support MNC/SMEs/Start-ups to penetrate into regional markets.-
