About the role:

As the Head, Securities (SG), he/she will report directly to the Group Head of Securities and play a critical role in driving securities product enhancement and development, cost rationalization, and harmonization. He/she will work closely with other departments to identify opportunities for product enhancement and cost rationalization and collaborate with Sales / Investment Management teams to identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling of securities products.


Objectives of this role:

  • Develop and execute a securities strategy that aligns with the overall business objectives of the firm, with a particular emphasis on product development and cost management.
  • Enhance and develop securities products in a cost-effective and efficient manner, with a focus on cost rationalization and harmonization.
  • Lead a high-performing team of securities professionals and collaborate with other departments to identify growth opportunities, streamline processes, and optimize product performance to maximize profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing the securities division, with a focus on product enhancement and development, cost rationalization, and harmonization.
  • Develop and execute strategy that aligns with the overall business objectives of the firm, with a particular emphasis on product development and cost management.
  • Work closely with other departments, including research, Sales, and technology, to identify opportunities for product enhancement and development, and to ensure that new products are designed and implemented in a cost-effective and efficient manner. You will collaborate with technology teams to design and implement new products that meet the needs of clients with inputs from Sales Team.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and eliminate redundant activities, and to ensure that resources are effectively deployed to achieve product development objectives in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and managing the team to ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools to achieve product development objectives. You will set performance objectives, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching and feedback to help team members reach their full potential.
  • Monitor market conditions to ensure that new products are developed in a timely and effective manner, and that existing products are modified or discontinued as needed to meet changing market conditions.
  • Collaborate with Sales Team to develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, and to identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling of securities products.
  • Ensure that securities product development processes and tools are optimized for efficiency and effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement to increase productivity and reduce costs

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Accountancy / Banking & Finance or its equivalent
  • At least 15 years of related experience in financial industry
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills i.e. process oriented with ability to analyse and recommend improvement
  • Time management skills to set priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective leader with the ability to motivate and build good rapport and collaborative working relationships with all levels of staff
