About the role

Reporting to the Regional Credit Manager, this intern will be part of a larger team within the Asia Pacific Finance department, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to minimise company financial risk and assist in enforcing existing policies and procedures. This 6-month full-time internship commences July 2024.

What you will be doing

  • Ensure monthly Credit Management Reporting is submitted to Regional Management/HQ on timely basis
  • Assist the Regional Credit Management team to request and pursue payment on delinquent/Close monitoring accounts via communication with account holder
  • Review and update account status according to established guidelines
  • Maintains log of payment promises and pertinent account details; schedules follow-up communication with account holder.
  • Responsible for handling the collection activity for delinquent accounts and enforcing collection policies & procedures.
  • Follow up with internal customers & external customers to ensure overdue amounts are paid promptly
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies relating to non-payment of invoices
  • Prepare and send monthly statements of account & reminder letter to customers/internal customers
  • Report and alert any exceptional and problematic customers and apply appropriate actions to minimize bad debt
  • Liaise closely with Internal External customers, proactively build and foster strong relationships
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

The successful candidate

  • At least a diploma or above (finance/accounting/business studies preferred)
  • Knowledge in accounting would be advantageous
  • Strong skills in excel / BI tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • Self-Motivated, analytical mindset
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Independent and fast learner with minimum supervision
  • Meticulous, organized, able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Possess good attitude and willingness to learn
