**What the role is**
- Head/ Deputy Head/ Assistant Head, Central Innovation Cluster (CIC)/ Manufacturing, Trade & Connectivity (MTC)
The National Research Foundation (NRF) is a department within the Prime Minister's Office, and we set the national direction for research, innovation and enterprise (RIE) by developing policies, plans and strategies; funding strategic initiatives that strengthen our scientific and technological capabilities, grow our RIE talent base, and achieve economic and national impact; and fostering RIE collaboration in Singapore and internationally.

**What you will be working on**
- A. Central Innovation Cluster (CIC)
You will be responsible for driving partnerships between the research ecosystem and industry, and to catalyse technology commercialisation, focusing on industry collaboration projects and translation platforms in the Manufacturing, Trade and Connectivity (MTC) domain. You will be working with MTC domain stakeholders to map and carry out gap analyses of I&E ecosystems and develop strategies in technology areas where Singapore has strengths and critical mass in expertise to benefit from innovating through cluster mechanisms. You will also manage awarded tech commercialisation projects and budgets, including variations to budget/ project duration/ project-lead, collation of reports, and review of completed projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to strengthen the linkages between researchers and industry, accelerating the translation of technology into industry and enabling our pool of innovative enterprises to develop globally competitive products and services, thereby realising Singapore’s vision as an innovation economy.
B. Manufacturing, Trade & Connectivity (MTC)
Manufacturing, Trade and Connectivity (MTC) Directorate is responsible for overseeing and managing RIE programmes in support of sectors in manufacturing, aviation, maritime and space by planning and strategizing new initiatives. You will work with public sector agencies, universities, research institutes, MNCs, LLEs, SMEs and start-ups, to develop strategic initiatives, to strengthen Singapore’s edge in the global manufacturing and trade value chain, and to enhance the connectivity and resilience of our small and open economy. You will manage strategic trade-offs in allocating resources across various MTC sectors, to ensure that the overall RIE investment portfolio is well utilised, optimised and balances between strengthening existing capabilities and making strategic bets to seed long-term capabilities. You will also monitor the implementation and effectiveness of existing RIE Funding Initiatives and programmes in the MTC domain to maintain strategic oversight and drive impactful outcomes. You will be supporting and participating in inter-agency committees and forums to develop RIE plans, deliberate on funding proposals, and exercise governance over funded initiatives as well.
