**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Tournament Planning**:Lead the planning and execution of chess tournaments and events, from inception to conclusion.
- **Team Management**:Oversee a team of tournament organizers, scorekeepers, and support staff, ensuring efficient teamwork and clear communication.
- **Venue Selection**:Collaborate with the team to select suitable venues, negotiate contracts, and manage all logistics related to tournament locations.
- **Schedule Management**:Create and manage tournament schedules, ensuring all matches and events run on time.
- **Rules and Regulations**:Ensure strict adherence to international chess rules and regulations, guaranteeing fair play and compliance as per the latest FIDE (World Chess Federation) rules & regulations.
- **Promotion and Sponsorship**:Collaborate with marketing teams to promote tournaments and seek sponsorship opportunities to enhance the tournament's reach and financial viability.
- **Participant Experience**:Focus on enhancing the overall experience of participants, from registration to post-tournament activities.
- **Budget Management**:Responsible for managing the tournament budget, including expenses and revenue, to ensure financial success.
- **Problem Solving**:Address any issues or disputes swiftly and professionally, working to find effective solutions during tournaments.
- **Post-Tournament Evaluation**:Conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes for future tournaments.
- **Effective and clear communication **between stakeholders, sponsors, and organizers (schools, parents, and organizations)

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Extensive knowledge of chess and a passion for the game.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in tournament management or event coordination is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and tournament management software.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by tournament schedules.
- FIDE Arbiter title qualification: FIDE Arbiter (FA) and above
- Understanding and experience of different cultures for the International Tournament Organisation
