**Objectives of this Role**:

- Design, develop, and secure backend infrastructure using modern PHP frameworks (Laravel/Symfony).
- Ensure API reliability, security, and scalability to support growing user traffic and new feature development.
- Contribute to overall system design, code quality, and compliance with PCI DSS and cybersecurity standards.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop secure and optimized APIs and backend logic using PHP.
- Create, manage, and optimize databases and database schemas (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and optimize complex queries.
- Perform vulnerability checks and ensure data access control mechanisms.
- Conduct unit/integration tests (PHPUnit) and participate in peer code reviews.
- Collaborate with DevOps for containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Maintain documentation, API schemas, and compliance logs.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs for data exchange and integrate third-party services as needed.
- Contribute to incident response processes and backend audit logging.
- Stay informed about PHP best practices, emerging technologies, and security practices.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- Proficient in PHP 8+, Laravel/Symfony and Composer.
- Solid understanding of secure session handling, input sanitization, encryption.
- Skilled in Git, REST API development, and SQL optimization.
- Familiar with PSR coding standards and OWASP best practices.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with attention to detail and commitment to writing maintainable code.

**Bonus Skills**:

- Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, or NoSQL (MongoDB).
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP.
- PCI DSS project experience or ISO 27001 controls implementation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills within a development team.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is a plus.
