Singapore Control Risks Full time

**Job Purpose**:
To contribute accurately geocoded and tagged content to our database of security incidents for CORE, primarily for the Asia region but also to ensure 24/7 coverage of major security events around the world.

**Tasks and Responsibilities**:

- Use a range of feeds to identify breaking major incidents around the world and rapidly add these to our database to alert online clients.
- Liaise with local analyst teams where required to source analysis and advice for clients.
- Use a range of sources to identify and select other events that match criteria for inclusion in the database, primarily for Asia but assisting on other locations as required.
- Research relevant information on these events, including locations, damage/loss estimates, affected assets and sectors.
- Research and add incidents for other projects as required.
- Support quality review to ensure accuracy of current and historic incident data.
- Contribute to updating or maintaining other CORE content as required to ensure content remains up to date.
- Contribute to analysis of the incident database in response to requests from internal and external clients.
- Assist with training and informing colleagues on the methodology and process of incident selection.
- Participate in product development, including improving and expanding (including backfilling) the database.
- Contribute to updating processes and procedures for maintaining and expanding the database.

**Skills and Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- **Proven research skills.**:

- **Strong understanding of political violence and security risks, and how they affect clients in a range of sectors.**:

- **Excellent IT skills and experience establishing and maintaining databases.**:

- **Strong analytical skills and ability to think laterally.**:

- **Excellent written English**:

- **Undergraduate degree.**:

- **Experience of operating in a commercial and team environment.**:

- **Excellent communication and organisational skills.**:

- **Proficiency in a range of computer skills and technologies.**

**Preferred**
- Prior work experience in a similar role
- Working knowledge of other languages
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field
- Knowledge of other languages
