Elementary Pastoral Care Manager

**MISSION**

The elementary pastoral care manager is responsible for the safety, health and wellbeing of the elementary students at school when outside the classroom and not under the teacher’s responsibility. He/she manages a team of discipline masters.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Discipline**
- To make sure that outside the classroom and teacher’s responsibility, children’s behaviors and attitudes are respectful of the school’s internal rules by liaising with other internal stakeholders (GAIN, ECA, teachers, directors etc.) and external stakeholders (canteen and bus etc.)
- To deal with children disciplinary issues when happening out of the teacher’s responsibility, and liaise with the parents.

**Ensure the well being of students and participate in educative projects**
- To participate in the students delegates’ meetings: reminder of rules and organize well being projects
- To set-up specific activities for the children during their time outside the classroom, contributing to the organization of specific educative projects (“Friendship celebration'', “passons à table”. ).
- To prevent safety issues for the children by monitoring and reporting maintenance defaults or degradations
- To liaise with the teachers and parents to follow up on students’ general well being
- Work in hand with the anti-bullying team( providing them with warnings about a situation or to be informed and monitor a situation)

**Organization of the Pastoral care**
- To organize the children’s arrivals and departures, regulating the flow between entrances, exits, bus bays, recreation areas and classrooms, in close link with the IFS parents supports and services or/and provider.
- To coordinate canteen’s time and organization, liaising with the IFS parents supports and services or/and provider in order to ensure that all the children have a qualitative and quiet lunch time.
- To insure the transition from the classroom to the ECA activities
- To work in close link with the infirmary for health and food related children’s concerns or restrictions.
- Promotes a constructive and fair flow of information between the management and the team
- To organize child care for IFS employees’ children

**Team Management**
- To manage the discipline masters’ team:

- Developing individual and collective performance (monitoring the professional development of each DEA, carrying out annual reviews, etc.)
- Conducting recruitment interviews with the HR department
- Organizing their daily plannings
- Replacements according to the needs
- Validating their absences and overtime
- To carry out additional duties or responsibilities according to this position, or in accordance with operational requirements, as required by his/her manager
- Liaise with the kindergarten and the secondary school’s teachers, directors and/or CPEs to accompany the students in order to facilitate the transition
- Establish the structure of the Grade 6 classes (6eme)

**SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIRED**
- Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in working with children
- Significant experience in management and organisation
- Service oriented
- Good interpersonal skills
- Taste for teamwork

- 38h/week
