Pastoral Care

The Pastoral Team Member will work under the supervision of the Pastor-in-Charge, and with the Pastor assigned to carry out the duties of planning, organizing and managing the assigned ministries towards attaining the vision of Fairfield Methodist Church.
- Execute an effective system of providing pastoral care to members and worshippers.
- Provide spiritual support to the bereaved, sick and the troubled.
- Pastoral visitations and coordination of homebound, hospitalisation, wakes and funerals.
- Recruit and train volunteers to provide ministry of caring, eg FFMC Care Team, Visitation team.
- Coordinate necessary communication channels and records to ensure pastoral needs are known, eg updating prayer needs for prayer meetings.
- Assist the Pastors to conduct wake services.
- Implement age-appropriate care programmes in consultation with Pastor-in-charge or Pastor assigned.
- Assist the pastors in the Baptism and Membership Class (administration and organization)

**B. Outreach**
In consultation with Pastor-in charge/Pastor assigned and OSC ministry chairperson:

- Execute community permeation and outreach strategy in Chinatown and beyond.
- Organize and co-ordinate outreach and community events and projects.
- Manage and mobilize volunteers to support the ministry of Yong En Care Centre (“YCC”).
- Mobilize, equip and nurture volunteers for the church-wide outreach initiatives and events to fulfil the Great Commission.
- Network and forge partnerships with other Churches and community service agencies and organisations in Chinatown.

C**. Other Duties**

Any other duties as assigned by the Pastor-In-charge or the pastor overseeing the ministry staff’s area of responsibilities.

**Pastoral team member (PASTORAL CARE)**:
**Responsibilities**:
**Objective**:
To provide meaningful pastoral care support and membership care that is relevant and age appropriate to the needs of our members and worshippers.

**A. Pastoral Care**
- Execute an effective system of providing pastoral care to members and worshippers.
- Provide spiritual support in palliative care, bereavement care and the troubled.
- Pastoral visitations and coordination of homebound, hospitalisation, wakes and funerals.
- Facilitate the Home/Hospital Visitation & Care Team.
- Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers to resource and provide ministry of caring, eg FFMC Care Team, Visitation team.
- Develop and implement necessary communication channels and process to ensure pastoral needs are known.
- Assist the Pastors to conduct wake services.
- Implement age appropriate care programmes.

**B. Baptism And Membership Class**
- Assist the pastors in the Baptism and Membership Class (administer & organise the class, conduct interviews with applicants, etc)
- Conduct selected sessions of the Baptism and Membership Class, only if required.

**C. Ministry Support and Involvement**
- Liaise with members and volunteers to provide prayer & concerns updates for church prayer meetings.
- Regular pastoral care records update relating to pastoral care (visitation and bereavement)
- Connecting and outreach efforts of the church

**D. Other Duties**
- Any other duties as assigned by the Pastor-In-Charge or the pastor overseeing the ministry staff’s area of responsibility in consultation with the Pastor-in-Charge.

- A matured Christian and willing to learn.
