**Responsibilities**
- Complete ownership of the mechanical design of the Battery System project with limited supervision. This includes doing the complete mechanical design, creating detailed mechanical drawings, DFM with suppliers, and BOM generation.
- Provide necessary sustaining support to existing products manufacturing, and work in a cross-functional team environment with the Electronics/Manufacturing/Quality team to assure system level integration and design for manufacturability.
- Support prototype and engineering builds: evaluate and document their performance; identify possible improvements.
- Maintaining view of customer requirements and any complaints to identify any areas that may need development or improvement.
- Structures, plans and coordinates tasks of design projects to achieve project objectives for the products under development.
- Identify resource requirements, cost, and time schedules as needed to deliver on project commitment. Develop an implementation plan, conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to accommodate unforeseen events.
- Monitor project performance and provide regular updates on project progress to customer and key stakeholders throughout project lifecycle. Identify problems, their resolution, trends, and their impact on project success; propose recommendations for management action.
- Interface with other disciplines, customers, internal clients, project staff and internal and external experts as required.

**Qualifications**
- 3D CAD proficiency required, preferably with Solidworks or equivalent.
- Highly motivated with strong learning ability.
- Strong quantitative, design, analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Experience in product development in battery technologies or electronics products.
- Excellent cross functional team management skills.
- Team player leading by example.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently and effectively as a team.
- Able to multi-task, prioritize activities, work independently and calmly under pressure.
- Good verbal and written communication skills required.

**Preferred Experience & Skills**
- Experience with product development and manufacturing cycles.
- Working knowledge of hardware and software of battery management systems and fuel gauges.
- Familiar with any programming concepts or embedded systems development
- Hands on experience with electronics product prototyping.
