What will I be doing?
1. Formulate, and review product-specific policies for ByteDance's emerging products, ensuring alignment with business strategy, regulatory standards, and user safety requirements.
2. Conduct thorough risk assessments for new products and features, identifying potential safety risks and design suitable mitigation strategies in partnership with Safety Product team
3. Collaborate closely with product development, and business teams to understand product features, objectives, and potential risks.
4. Monitor industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to proactively adjust policies and ensure ongoing compliance.
5. Champion user safety and trust, promoting transparency and ethical practices in our product development process.
6. Prepare and present policy-related updates and reports to stakeholders, ensuring open communication and consistent alignment with business objectives.

**Qualifications**:
Minimum qualifications
- Strong analytical reasoning, execution, and project management skills;
- Strong communication: Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to translate complex challenges into simple and clear language and persuade between multiple levels;
- Adaptability: Embrace change and be willing to modify your approach based on new information, user feedback, or market trends

Preferred qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in policy development, preferably regarding technology/internet/social media/content;
- Bachelors degree in public policy, politics, law, economics, communications, behavioral sciences, or related field;
- Experience working with or willing to work with international partners across different time zones and cultures.
