**Position Description**
This role will work with the wider Finance team to ensure financial reporting accuracy and contribute to an effective internal control environment. The Accountant plays a critical role in the monthly close process by contributing over piloting the preparation of support for certain journal entries. The role will support broad company initiatives and interact with key internal and external stakeholders.
**Essential Job Functions**
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure financial information is recorded and communicated in a timely and precise manner
- Work under limited supervision, both independently and within a team environment
- Frequent contact with external 3rd party suppliers and vendors
**Duties**
- Ensure smooth day to day finance operations, provide support and guidance to finance administrator, ensure accuracy in GL data entry, ensure compliance with internal control and procedures.
- System and Process Implementation for general accounting matters.
- Will be involved in finance project integration, work closely with managers and various departments to streamline internal processes.
- Preparation of monthly Management Accounts and month end G/L trial balance for review.
- Maintenance of Fixed Asset Registers and depreciation
- Maintenance of the general ledger, including posting of journals, maintenance of prepayments, accruals, CoS and deferred income schedules. Resolution of any issues to ensure records remain accurate
- Assist with liaising with auditors and tax agents for year-end audits and tax filing/compliance.
- Preparation of Management Information and Analysis as required. Assist with budget queries
- Maintenance of Fixed Asset Registers and depreciation
- Assist with the annual audit
- General office administration
- Additional duties as assigned from time to time by management
- Work under limited supervision, both independently and within a team environment
**Job Requirements**
- Accountancy degree or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
- Experience working in IT industry eg. Data Center or Critical Infrastructure environment
- Experience in dealing with customer issues and problem solve
- Able to plan, organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate internally with team members as well as externally with vendors and other service providers
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, strongly preferred
- Work effectively in collaboration cross-functionally to achieve shared goals and deliver business objectives
- Potential employees must complete a background check successfully
- Experience working with multiple legal entities under different legal and regulatory umbrellas
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft desktop, Finance and Accounting systems, Microsoft Office 365
- Experience with YARDI accounting software is a plus
