[What the role is]

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is Singapore’s central bank and integrated financial regulator.

As central bank, MAS promotes sustained, non-inflationary economic growth through the conduct of monetary policy and close macroeconomic surveillance and analysis. It manages Singapore’s exchange rate, official foreign reserves, and liquidity in the banking sector.

As an integrated financial supervisor, MAS fosters a sound financial services sector through its prudential oversight of all financial institutions in Singapore - banks, insurers, capital market intermediaries, financial advisors, and stock exchanges. It is also responsible for well-functioning financial markets, sound conduct, and investor education.

[What you will be working on]

You will be part of a dynamic team within the Technology & Cyber Risk Supervision Department in MAS that is responsible for strengthening the cyber resilience of Singapore’s financial sector, and supervising financial institutions in their technology risk management (TRM) and business continuity management (BCM) practices.

In this role, the officer will be involved in the following areas of work:

- Oversee MAS’ BCM supervisory framework and policies (e.g. MAS BCM guidelines)
- Conduct on-site inspections and off-site reviews of financial institutions to assess their BCM
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to drive sectoral initiatives on BCM and operational resilience, including conducting sector-level business continuity exercises
- Participate in international working groups and standards setting bodies, and staff MAS principals in international meetings and discussions on financial sector operational and cyber resilience
- Engage and establish arrangements with other financial authorities for bilateral and multi-lateral cyber collaboration

- Keen interest in pursuing a career in BCM and operational/cyber resilience.
- Effective team player who is also able to work independently and possesses good communication, interpersonal and project management skills.
- Knowledge of MAS’ guidelines, notices and initiatives on BCM, TRM and cyber security would be beneficial.
