**DEPUTY DIRECTOR/ ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, ACADEMIC GOVERNANCE OFFICE**
**UNIVERSITY OF THE ARTS SINGAPORE**
**Purpose**
- The Deputy Director/ Assistant Director (DD/AD), Academic Governance Office will support the Vice-Chancellor in running the Academic Governance Office which will provide secretariat support for the various University Academic, Research and Faculty Appointments Committees. The Academic Governance Office will also be responsible for setting policies and processes related to ethics, inclusion and diversity, internal audit, risk management and advancement for the University. The DD/AD, Academic Governance Office reports to the Director (Planning & Development).
**Key Roles & Responsibilities**
- Manage and provide secretariat support for key University committees, as the lead Secretariat, including the preparation of agenda, attendance of meetings, drafting of meeting minutes and circulars, monitoring the follow-up on actionable items and managing all other committee matters including membership nominations of various University committees.
- Support the development of and oversee the drafting of policy positions and papers on new academic, research and policy initiatives.
- Oversee the development of the framework for faculty appointments and faculty development.
- Monitor and review the key quality indicators for constituent colleges to review its degree programmes and propose changes as necessary.
- Oversee, plan and co-ordinate the processes for periodic external quality review of degree programmes.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policy positions and processes related to ethics, diversity & inclusion, internal audit, risk management and advancement within the University.
This is a supervisory role.
**Requirements**:
- Extensive experience (including in a supervisory role) preferably in an Institute of Higher Learning, or in-depth policy and governance knowledge in an educational environment.
- Strong ability to think critically and analytically, with a keen eye for detail.
- Intellectual curiosity, with strong interest in developments in higher education.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset, as well as stakeholder management skills.
