A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR ID Labs) is seeking for a Scientist to join us in our mission to be a leading centre of infectious diseases research. A*STAR ID Labs aims to develop a cohesive A*STAR response to drive and deliver translational infectious diseases research to better health and economic outcomes.

**About the programme**:
The programme is a collaborative initiative that aims to develop a comprehensive host-based platform ready for the next pandemic.

1. Develop diagnostic assays for infectious diseases.
2. Design and conduct experiments including analyze and interpret scientific results.
3. Develop work plans and work closely with the other members of the team.
4. Work with patient samples.
5. Summarize and present results to the team, research collaborators and industry partners.
6. Work independently and with collaborators to develop new research ideas.
7. Plan, schedule and co-ordinate different research projects.
8. Participate actively in training of students and institute-related events.

**Job Requirements**:
PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Infectious Diseases, Immunology or related field as above
Strong background in Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Genomics
Experience in infection/immunity, handling of BSL-2 or BSL-3 viral pathogens, cell culture, flow cytometry, cellular and molecular techniques
Highly motivated and able to work independently
Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
Experience with industry project management
Team player with good interpersonal skills
Good spoken and written communication skills
