**The Role**
We are looking for a self-motivated, approachable, and business-savvy technology lawyer to join our in-house legal team to support Apryse’s growing business and team in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC).

**Key Responsibilities**
- Draft and negotiate software license agreements, reseller agreements and other commercial contracts.
- Provide day-to-day legal advice and pragmatically resolve issues that arise across the business, primarily focused on supporting our sales and compliance teams.
- Support negotiations in connection with compliance opportunities and misuse of open source licensing.
- Work with legal and business stakeholders to develop and support processes for contracting and other legal matters to improve efficiency, scalability and productivity of sales process.
- Work collaboratively and efficiently with external legal counsel where required.
- Assist with privacy matters and other regulatory compliance efforts.
**Requirements**:
- Law degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant commercial legal experience (ideally in a major law firm and/or in-house at a software company).
- Extensive experience working with software licensing agreements and technology-related transactions.
- An understanding of intellectual property rights issues related to software.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to understand the interplay of legal and business terms, and to advocate a strong position while maintaining a positive relationship with the other party.
- Ability to grasp legal and business issues and provide tailored advice in plain language to non-legal stakeholders.
- Creative problem-solver who can take a leadership role in transactions and resolve complex issues in creative, efficient, and practical ways.
- Proactive, service-oriented attitude, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative business relationships at all levels of the organization.
- impeccable attention to detail, organized and able to self-motivate and work well independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
**Nice to haves**:
- Fluency in another language.
- Experience working with and supporting sales teams.
- Experience supporting IP compliance and protection efforts in APAC region.
- Experience negotiating agreements with government entities in APAC.
- Familiarity with open source software.
- Experience with privacy regulations.
