**Responsibilities**:
In this position you will:
- Responsible for end to end accounting and reporting function for the regional offices and cross borders entities.
- Review month-end reporting prepared by the team, including work done by outsourced service providers.
- Coordinate annual external audits and ensure timely filing of annual financial statements for all regional and cross borders entities.
- Review GST returns prepared by the team. Work closely with the tax team to resolve all tax issues, and ensure taxes are filed on time.
- Work collaboratively with regional finance, treasury, FP&A, FBP, legal, HR and other functions to support business strategies and operations, resolve issues and ensure compliance with Group policies and procedures.
- Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management team.
- Responsible for driving internal monthly/quarterly reviews for subsidiaries and support any reviews driven by Regional Finance and Alibaba Group Finance.
- Drive a strong control environment within the Regional Offices, and implement and maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control and SOX requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in the closing process and process re-engineering to achieve greater efficiency within the team, and build up Regional Office processes as the role model/best practice for other ventures.
- Work closely with outsourced accounting vendors and finance excellence team to feedback on performance.
- Finance Excellence Lead for T&E process, including working closely with outsource vendors and local ventures to ensure delivery of SLA, resolution of issues, working with HR and internal control to maintain T&E policies, and working with IT to ensure system issues are resolved.
- Participation in periodic update calls with outsource accounting vendors for accounts payable and T&E. Provide insights and recommendations how to resolve issues and further improve existing process.
- Responsible for coordinating budgeting process for Regional Office entities.
**Job Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting
- Preferred Chartered Accountant/ CPA with at least 12-15 years of combined Big 4 and relevant commercial experience in financial reporting. Exposure to US GAAP and SEC reporting is preferred.
- Continuous improvement DNA and not afraid to challenge status quo
- Proactive in solving problems with out of the box thinking
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity
- Ability to execute and follow-through completion and documentation
- Experience in SAP is preferred.
- Meticulous and with good attention to details
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines
