Payroll Analyst

We’re looking for a Payroll Analyst to join our team focused on reconciliation, accounting and taxation, and management of the firm’s international compensation / payrolls._

The Global Payroll team is responsible for management of the process of domestic and international payrolls, tax reporting, withholding and compliance, global mobility, system implementations, bespoke benefits, and interdepartmental coordination with dependent teams at Point72.

**What you’ll do**

We’re looking for a Payroll Analyst to join our team focused on reconciliation, accounting, taxation, and management of the firm’s international compensation / payrolls. We’re looking for someone with the capacity to develop professionally and build leadership skills to assume increased responsibilities in the department over time. Specifically, you will:

- Prepare and review international payrolls accurately and ensure all deadlines are met
- Ensure all relevant payroll data is submitted to outsourced payroll provider with no omission or error
- Analyze data and management reports and run/prepare reports and analysis for ad-hoc requests to support the strategic goals of the business
- Maintain strong business relationships with outsourced payroll providers
- Liaise with other departments within and outside of Finance to address questions, collaborate on projects, and address management inquiries
- Collaborate with the U.S. Payroll team timely and effectively when needed, while being cognizant of different time zones
- Assist in the monthly accounting close process by performing balance sheet reconciliations, identification and explanation of variances and preparation of journal entries
- Identify and implement process improvements to minimize opportunities for error and to improve the timeliness of our deliverables
- Review and identify changes in taxes and social charges; work with external tax experts to verify appropriate treatment by local vendors
- Work virtually alongside a team of experienced professionals to actively engage in job training
- Cross train among peers to ensure proper coverage is maintained
- Manage employee and stakeholder requests and queries
- Perform ad hoc reports and activities as needed
- Responsible for payroll governance including adherence of compliance and/or statutory matters

**What is needed to succeed**
- 3+ years of finance/accounting/payroll experience
- Excellent attention to detail with a process-oriented approach to payroll compensation for some of the top leading professionals in the industry
- Be able to efficiently analyze sizeable amounts of data and work with the technology team to identify opportunities where improvement is essential
- Have the ability to excel in a dynamic, fast paced environment and work effectively under pressure
- Be positive and flexible to manage change and build working relationships with our clients within Finance and throughout the firm
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese as you will need to manage Japan payroll
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Strong proficiency in Excel with knowledge of VLOOKUP’s, sum ifs and pivot tables
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field
