**Job Summary**:
The Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of project schedules for large-scale oil and gas projects. This role ensures that all project activities are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored, facilitating on-time and on-budget project delivery. The Planning Manager works closely with project managers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to provide accurate project planning data and identify potential risks to project timelines.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead the planning and scheduling activities for all project phases, from conceptualization to completion.
- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Ensure that project schedules are aligned with project objectives, milestones, and resource availability.
- Conduct critical path analysis and other schedule assessments to identify risks and potential delays, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project progress, update schedules regularly, and provide detailed status reports to project management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, procurement, construction) to gather input and ensure that all activities are accurately reflected in the project schedule.
- Lead schedule review meetings and ensure that all parties understand schedule impacts and timelines.
- Develop recovery plans when projects deviate from the baseline schedule.
- Collaborate with cost control teams to ensure alignment between cost forecasts and schedule timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all company procedures and industry standards related to project planning and scheduling.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, critical path analysis, and risk management.
- Demonstrated experience managing planning for large-scale projects, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex schedule data to various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on proactive planning and issue resolution.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
