The Head of Procurement leads negotiations for all the spend categories, including IT, Business Services, Insurance goods and services to secure advantageous terms and conditions. He / she develops vendor negotiation plans and strategies that are supportive and aligned with business objectives and strives for building long term and reliable partnerships with suppliers.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Negotiates advantageous terms and conditions, creates significant value to stakeholders for cost effectiveness, flexibility and efficiency
- Incorporates needs and requirements into contract negotiations and contract language, supports execution of end to end procurement process
- Develops and implements strategies for cost optimization, supplier consolidation, standardization, service delivery / quality improvements and process efficiency
- Reviews purchase order claims and contracts with respect to compliance of Allianz Technology policies
- Identifies and discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers and negotiates refunds or the respective resolving
- Makes recommendations for improvements of the procurement processes and leads, steers respective projects
- Manages multiple end-to-end sourcing projects of various scales in parallel, working alongside with a wide range of businesses and stakeholders

**Key Competencies**
- Possessing analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail with an ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize a rapidly changing set of objectives
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant contracts, agreements and suppliers
- Engagement and collaboration skills with understanding of organization and process-related customer requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and customers both written and verbal
- Ability to navigate through ambiguity and challenges, and to find a solution to move things forward
- Ability to work with stakeholders across different countries (especially in EU and Asia) and to adjust to multi-culture aspects
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, being able to create trust and influence decision-making

**Key Requirements/Skills/Experience**:

- Higher education degree in a technical or business field or comparable discipline
- Experience working in global matrix environments
- Relevant work experience in a procurement or related role
- Process and project management training and / or certification desirable
- At least 10+ years of work experiences in a procurement role, with extensive experiences in IT strategic sourcing preferably in a regional / global role.
- Familiarity with Ariba and SAP system
- Extensive knowledge in IT
- People management experience preferred
