Chevron Supply and Trading (S&T) provides a critical link between the market and Chevron's upstream, downstream and chemicals companies. We provide commercial support to our crude oil and natural gas production operations and to our refining and marketing network.
Headquartered in Houston, Texas, and have offices worldwide - including trading hubs in Houston, London, Singapore and San Ramon, California. Our trading professionals manage commodity transactions averaging five million barrels of liquids and five billion cubic feet of natural gas each day. Our activities are organized by crude oil, natural gas and refined products.
Gas Supply and Trading (GSAT) is responsible for marketing Chevron’s gas, LNG and LPG production as well as trading 3rd party volumes. With offices in Perth, Singapore, London, Houston and Calgary our global teams procure, transport, market pipeline and seaborn gas products to maximize the value of Chevron’s Upstream production. We work in close collaboration with Chevron Shipping, Pipeline and Power and third parties to transport gas for internal and external customers around the world.
GSAT is tightly integrated with the internal Value Chain Optimization (VCO) organization and Upstream to capture opportunities across the entire well head-to-customer value chain. The team collects and leverages market intelligence to deliver incremental value and enhanced profitability through strategic arbitrage, storage and third-party trading, balancing the Chevron system and proactively managing changing gas & gas liquids flows to ensure flow assurance.
About the role
This position of LNG Cargo Operator is located in Singapore and part of a global team responsible for trading of LNG both from Chevron’s upstream assets as well as 3rd party cargoes. The London team is also responsible for adding value to the business through the commercial risk management of Chevron’s global LNG exposure.
As LNG Cargo Operator, you will work as part of a team responsible for the commercial operations related to the loading, transport, and discharge of LNG cargoes, and providing commercial, logístical, and administrative support to various functions within Chevron Gas Supply & Trading.
Primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Implement all Trading related LNG contracts (SPAs/MSPAs), proactively communicating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure cargoes are operated in a structured manner.- Manage the full life-cycle for the delivery of cargoes ensuring that all obligations of Sales and Purchase Agreements (SPA) and Lifting Agreements are fulfilled.- Monitors vessel ETAs, vessel notices and vessel arrival condition to ensure compliance with Lifting Agreements, Terminal Regulations and Specific Delivery Schedule (SDS).- Nominate and obtain clearance of vessels with operator, third party sellers and/or buyer as required together with ensuring internal Chevron clearance requirements are met. Coordinates information required by stakeholders.- Works with third party sellers and buyers to arrange for nomination of cargo surveyors. Prepares nomination of Cargo Surveyor. Monitors performance of surveyors against required duties and contract.- Issues documentation instructions and customs paperwork. Collates and distributes cargo documentation from cargo surveyor to buyer and Chevron. Maintains records of all cargo loadings.- Works Independently in handling a varying degree of complex operational issues/problems, shipping operation problems, analytical work, research of records, use of computer model scheduling programs etc.- Integral part of the trading desk, working closely with traders towards optimisation, including maximising profitable operations and minimising profit leakage from the flexibility and optionality embedded in the LNG contracts and Supply programs.- Communicating with internal stakeholders for matters relating to cargo operations (legal, treasury, commercial, shipping).- Identifying process improvements and commercial opportunities to maximize value of each cargo movement.- Manage internal and external relationships with third party operators, terminals, shippers, surveyors and Chevron’s Trading and Origination business.- Contribute towards the development of projects and new contracts, working closely with Trading, Origination, Legal, Contracts, Loss Control, Mid and Back Office Functions, Tax, Finance and Credit teams.
