**BRIEF DESCRIPTION**
APCO is seeking an internship student in Singapore who will work under the supervision of the intern coordinator and interface with all levels of staff regarding project tasks.
APCO Singapore office offers internships to students year-round. APCO’s internship program seeks to provide students or new graduates with a valuable and substantive work experience and strives to involve the interns in all aspects of the company. An intern is encouraged to attend staff and brainstorm meetings and will also potentially have the opportunity to attend client meetings. Interns are treated as professional staff and play a key role on client service teams. They typically focus on one of APCO diverse client service groups while also contributing to a wide range of project work in other areas.
Client functional service groups include Corporate Affairs, Government Relations and Partnerships. Industry Groups include ICT, FMCG and Healthcare
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
The intern is responsible for supporting assigned staff to support projects that aims to enhance an organization's reputation and policy environment, influence decision-making, and ensure effective communication with various audiences.
- Specific responsibilities may include:
- Research with respect to:
- Policy and issues analysis
- Corporate and industry analysis
- Public perceptions
- Media and issues monitoring
- Writing and developing briefing books, reports and white papers
**QUALIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS**
**EDUCATION**:
- Bachelor or master’s degree in progress, preferably in international relations, political science, communications, public relations, or related fields
**LANGUAGES**:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English required
**EXPERIENCE**:
Relevant professional or internship experience highly desirable
**CORE SKILLS**:
- An understanding of regional economics and politics
- Excellent written and communications skills
- Ability to organize and multi-task on project requests
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as to work independently
- Self-motivated
- Professional demeanor
