Purpose of the role The Public Affairs Consultant is tasked with monitoring key political and regulatory agendas in the Asia-Pacific region that may impact the brand. The role also supports strategic recommendations and risk mitigation to protect the brand and its ability to do business. Key responsibilities and tasks Monitor and research new and emerging regulatory risks across the Asia-Pacific region, including industry trends Use subscriptions and external resources to maintain up-to-date knowledge sharing Identify additional platforms or groups to support keeping the client updated Focus on issues related to Health & Nutrition, Tax & Trade, Sustainability, and Corporate Communications Prepare monthly reports for the region, including presenting notes Develop and adapt reporting templates as required, suggesting tweaks to format Present reports to the Regional Director for discussion and analysis Use analysis and research to develop strategies to mitigate and map risk for the brand Propose proactive and reactive approaches to safeguard the company and present these in requested formats About you At least 15 years’ experience in public affairs or corporate communications, ideally in the food and beverage sector Proven experience in regulatory and sustainability fields Background in program management Extensive knowledge of and experience working in the Asia-Pacific region Team player with the ability to influence and build strong relationships Calm under pressure with the ability to deliver to tight deadlines This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities.
