**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
With a focus on growth, the Business Relationship Director (BRD) works with business partners across McCormick Asia Pacific Zone region seeking to stimulate, surface, and shape demand for capabilities and solutions forming IT's business-aligned roadmap. This individual ensures that the potential business value from those capabilities and assets are captured, optimized, and recognized in partnership with other IT teams. Acts as an internal business consultant by recommending strategic projects that bring business value. Also, where appropriate, provides guidance and/or expertise regarding project design, architecture, implementation, and support.
As McCormick transitions to a digital business, this position is accountable for Asia Pacific Zone Commercial delivery and supporting other functions across the enterprise. This is a very large, strategic and transformational strategy wherein the BRD is expected to play a critical leadership role and help shape the future of our company.

The holder of this position sees themself as businessperson who uses IT as an enabler to business growth. While they take pride in a good IT implementation the real thrill comes from seeing that translate into business success. They know that to deliver that you need true collaboration, where getting the job done well is more important than lines on an organization chart.

The incumbent must be able to communicate capability roadmaps, strategies, solutions and trends both inside IT and with business leaders, in a form and level that each audience can consume.
Through effective stakeholder management, contributes to IT direction by actively partnering with business stakeholders, and Product Line managers to determine strategic technology direction. They work to identify ways in which they can support and advance business objectives. Additionally, helps shape business demand by partnering with business and IT resources to facilitate the creation of business cases and value plans and ensuring value optimization and communication across teams.
This individual is responsible for the indirect management of a global team.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Drive the business and IT

**Partner with business leaders to**:
Drive sales growth by leveraging digital and commerce capabilities aligned to regional Commercial sales objectives.
Ensure cross functional capabilities are in place to support regional business needs.
Enable them to articulate their function's technology needs and requirements to enable business performance.
Measure value deliver, and adoption. Develop future roadmap and opportunities.
Plan new initiatives, evaluate ideas, and determine how they fit into business capability roadmaps and priorities.
Partner with IT Product Line Managers to maintain visibility over the capabilities and portfolio execution.
Act as an internal advisor and visionary on emerging technologies by recommending strategic projects that bring business value.
Cost center and project budgets
Manage budgetary efforts necessary for securing appropriate funding for key efforts. Responsible to drive business case definition for strategic projects.
Accountable for the related local cost center(s) - where appropriate, budgeting technology projects and assistance in development of value propositions for solutions.
Technology strategy and architecture
Partner with IT product lines to ensure that APZ’s business needs are represented in product roadmaps.
Ensure partnerships and data sharing is evaluated by IT security to protect our business from cybersecurity and privacy risks.
Seek innovative solutions and feed them back to the business, weighing all key factors such as business fit, total cost of ownership, technological fit, compliance, security requirements and ease of use.
Critically assess where APZ must deviate from global solutions. Ensuring regional solutions are based on sound ROI and ongoing business commitment to support and maintain.
Team leadership and coaching
Actively participate in performance evaluation process and development needs of global IT team members, including shaping goals and providing input to employee individual development plans.
Mentor team to shape initiatives and work efforts to seek cost efficiencies and effectiveness for the business.
