**Purpose / Mission of the role**
- Lead the Business Development function at RP APA
- Represent thyssenkrupp in South-East Asia
- Manage the regional office in Singapore
**Head of BD - located in Dubai**
- Lead the BD team of RP APA across the region
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining regional stakeholder networks and developing engagement plans
- Manage governmental affairs of the group in the region; relationship building with political and institutional bodies, business associations and diplomatic corps
- Establish best practices in government affairs management including stakeholder analysis, managing stakeholder engagement database, framing engagement objectives with key stakeholders
- Monitor legislations and define impact for tk’s businesses - collaborate with businesses to develop single point of view on key issues of significance to tk and ensure consistent communication to the relevant policy makers
- Lead and enable the team to develop business opportunities and new business models for tk in the region
- Provide professional market intelligence and business analytics
- Ensure close cooperation with and support of RP APA Tech Centers, e.g. development of strategies and BD concepts/activities of Tech Centers
- Provide project management support to other RP APA functions and businesses and coordinate/lead initiatives and cross-functional/-regional RP APA projects
- Develop RP APA communications plan and support businesses to create and implement communication/marketing strategies and activities in the APA region
- Develop media strategy for existing and newly developed business and manage press / media network
- Develop crisis management protocol and processes
**Regional Representative South-East Asia - located in Singapore**
- Lead the regional office in Singapore and manage activities of the companies tk Singapore and tk Innovations.
- Ensure that all activities are performed in a safe manner and do not contravene Company policies and any statutory requirements particularly workplace health and safety legislation
- Track regional industry trends to understand the business impact. Develop a strategy to ensure sustainable profitable business growth while incorporating budgeting and defined milestones to deliver the annual and long-term targets
- Develop markets, clients and project opportunities in the South-East Asia region in contracting, services and throughout the technology portfolio of thyssenkrupp.
- Develop, strengthen and maintain business relationships with stakeholders and act as primary point of contact to secure access to key government stakeholders in the South-East Asia region
- Build a team and lead the talent development process and agenda, ensuring that the local operations are building up capabilities to meet short-, mid-, and long-term needs
- Work with thyssenkrupp business leaders and regional peers to assess and understand respective needs to plan and share resources and ensure effective integration of activities and operations across thyssenkrupp in South-East Asia
**Requirements**:
- Minimum of 20 years' experience in an MNC in the industrial engineering and steel production industry, including experience in the following businesses: Materials services, Industrial components, Automotive technology, Steel, Marine Systems
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in international affairs
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales strategy
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in professional leadership responsibility for middle East and Africa affairs
- An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with diverse business functions including Communications, Finance etc.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practice
- Experience in developing strategies and implanting vision
- In depth market knowledge of the Asia Pacific Africa region
- Ability to build rapport with high level stakeholders
