- **EMURGO Africa** is an investment vehicle that also provides hands-on acceleration and incubation programs, with $100m having been earmarked for investments in Africa, where a key growth driver in the region is the use of lending and borrowing crypto services for daily life.

**The CEO Office team**

The CEO Office supports the CEO across all facets of the business, including strategy; financial decision-making; project management and execution; ecosystem development and research; identification and mitigation of legal, regulatory or other risks; as well as administrative support.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to work as a translator in the blockchain industry. You will be assigned to the CEO's office and will be responsible for translating investment pitch decks, investment documents, internal reports, external presentations, CVs and other materials that the CEO will review.

**What you will be doing**
- Practical translation between English to Japanese (Tools can be used, but manual translation skills are required as some materials are locked for compliance reasons).
- Understand the meaning of the original text and edit the translated version to ensure that the nuances and messages are consistent.
- Read assigned materials, research industry specific terminology and translate English into Japanese. (We may also ask you to translate notices, blog posts, press releases, video scripts, landing pages, help guides, etc.)
- Maintain style guides, glossaries, language and etc for the better readability.
- Quality assurance of the translation process
- Maintaining the translation database
- Ensure that deadlines are met, and that quality copy is produced accurately and efficiently.
- Provide feedback and make changes as required.

Experience in the financial or IT industry is desirable, but the blockchain industry is new so no experience is necessary to take on this challenge. The Ecosystem Director will have responsibility to advise the CEO on gaps and potential opportunities from a technical and commercial business context.

- Curiosity and deep knowledge of blockchain technology
- High-level project management skills, including engineers, research team, and affiliated companies.
- Deep understanding for the tech product lifecycle in the startup space
- Business planning and management skills (strategy, recruitment strategy, forecasting, performance management, people management, etc.)
- Ability to participate in discussions with Cardano core partners at the protocol level.

**What you bring to EMURGO**
- At least 3 years of translation experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google software.
- Native/fluent English language skills and fluency in Japanese: almost all internal communication is done in English.
- Ability to grasp new concepts quickly, including technical terms: this is a specialist role, and you will need to learn this after joining us
- Time management and project management skills
- Curiosity and deep knowledge of blockchain technology

**Assignment**

At least 3 years of translation experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google software.
