Job summary

Genomics and other high throughput technologies are rapidly advancing scientific discovery, the development of precision diagnostics and personalized therapeutics. Do you have the industry background, technical depth, and communication skills needed to help further establish AWS as a leader in the genomics industry? AWS is looking for a hands-on business development leader who can help customers build Proof of Concept and Production pipelines that allow customers to enjoy the benefits of the cloud, leveraging AWS-native and AWS Partner solutions. This lead must understand business and technical trends impacting the genomics industry, their adoption of cloud technologies and be passionate and capable of driving market development and market scaling efforts for AWS.

In addition to partnering with customers to build genomic analysis pipelines leveraging AWS, you will represent AWS with the Open Source community to align AWS capabilities with industry best practices. Your responsibilities will include engaging with key industry customers and strategic industry partners, developing proof of concepts and production pipelines, and creating significant new business opportunities for AWS. You will partner with the AWS sales teams selling to genomics industry accounts to support strategic customer engagements and streamline customer adoption of AWS and AWS partner solutions. You will work closely with AWS Solutions Architects to develop and promote cloud patterns and solutions for the industry, including high performance computing, storage optimization and partner-based solutions. You will work closely with AWS product and services teams to help evolve AWS offerings for more rapid customer adoption.

Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the Business Development team to drive overall AWS market and technical strategy for the Genomics industry.
- Contribute to the advancement of the AWS Genomics Lab in line with the AWS genomic strategic direction, in partnership with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, etc.).
- Build business development pipeline by engaging with key prospects and partners, using both AWS native and open-source tools.
- Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal AWS service development teams to guide the direction of our genomic offerings.
- Present business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to expanding our reach in the industry.
- Handle a high volume of engagements and interactions in the fast pace, cloud computing market.
