Overview:
IDC is seeking a Research Manager/Director to join the company's growing proprietary and customized Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT) research offering to the investment community. The company's Tech Investor team works directly with many of the world's premier hedge, mutual and private equity funds in providing fundamental research support to their portfolio managers and analysts. The incumbent's primary responsibilities will include providing clients with best-in-class customer service in support of their research projects, while working closely with the company's research teams to manage the Tech Investor curated push-research product tailored to investors.

**Responsibilities**:
The Research Manager/Director position will include specific research and client service responsibilities focused on supporting the research needs of buy-side and private equity institutions. Ongoing activities will include the following:

- Manage the proactive information flow to the buy-side clients in addition to handling incoming research requests
- Manage 2-4 account managers supporting all financial clients in Asia Pacific and China
- Work closely with the company's research teams to ensure that the push-research product includes the most important and timely in-house research available
- Create strong partnerships with clients; building credibility by being responsive, diligent, and relevant
- Coordinate research calls and custom projects with buy-side clients and in-house company's analysts
- Serve as an overall team player supporting clients and colleagues in a very collaborative environment
- Collaborate with the sales team on business development opportunities

Qualifications:

- A strong interest in technology is preferred.
- A team-focused individual with a positive perspective and a good sense of humor
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in finance or another demanding, fast-paced environment is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin) is a strong asset.
- Bachelor's Degree is required.
- Travel will be limited.
