This role is based out of Singapore. 25% travel may be required.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage transmission & distribution electricity utilities, project management consultants, right of way (easements), substation contractors and owner's engineers for transmission works & substations to deliver MV & HV power infrastructure on time, on budget and to specifications.
- Manage and co-ordinate with internal stakeholders viz. Planning, Real estate, Design, Procurement, Construction, Operations & Commissioning teams
- Managing Utility Contracts/retail agreements - Entering into connection agreement, Contracting the right capacity to optimize on power purchase costs
- Due Diligence of new Data Center sites to check Power availability for new sites; Study understand and have view on Power Infrastructure planning by Transmission / Distribution Utility; Cost & timelines for extension of power infrastructure projects to sites.
- Monitoring of Power Infrastructure reliability indices SAIFI/SAIDI and take corrective action by working with Operations, Power Utilities to improve the same.
- Develop and execute energy strategies that leverage capital projects (utility grid connections, high voltage substations, energy storage, etc) to reduce long term energy costs.
- Identify and develop innovative cost savings projects and initiatives related to Power Infrastructure and supply.
- Work with utility regulators to develop policies and guidelines that enable broader AWS strategies and objectives.
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred - Experience planning, engineering, developing or constructing substations or other 33kV or greater energy infrastructure - Substation operations experience - Experience working directly with public utility commissions and other energy regulators - Experience with IT infrastructure, data centers and cloud services - Experience successfully negotiating new tariff rates, power purchase agreements and/or energy infrastructure contracts in regulatory regimes.
