Assistant Manager

Working Hours: 8.30am-5.45pm (Monday-Friday)

**Salary**: up to $8k

Duration: 6 months contract

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensures Brand’s image is maintained at a consistent level of excellence within guidelines set forth by main HQ office in order to achieve a cohesive effect in terms of architecture, detailing and merchandising layouts.
- Provides designs, technical drawings and specifications to market & chosen shop fitter for every new installation.
- Consults with local Brand Managers to ensure best locations within stores; analyzes traffic flow to guarantee customer interaction; analyzes architectural features; inspects sites to ensure cohesive design and faster approval process.
- Educates affiliates and distributors to select locations which best suit company's needs
- Help affiliates understand technical aspects of store design, (ie. reading drawings, explaining architectural terminology)
- Train and check for completeness of project request forms and the overall process.
- Educate and update new and existing shop fitters on new techniques, details and directions for client's store design.
- Responsible for the interpretation of all company's designs.
- Collaborates with Indirect Procurement (IP) on cost optimization and price templates; Investigating, evaluating and qualifying new shop fitters for future markets and projects as required.
- Liaise with regional design groups on store appearance, informing all parties involved of any updates and/or revisions to standard details.
- Develops “Punch List” (List of deficiencies) for each installation to ensure compliance with design set.
- Files and keeps clear, understandable records and project management tools of all stores for future use by Brand Managers, Merchandising and Store Design. This includes supporting Administrator for transmittal of electronic files for central archival purposes in main HQ office.
- Provides guidance to junior designers or new hires within the region by induction/orientation and manage circulation list for updating Store Design & Visual Merchandising (SDVM) network and vendors. Work closely with Visual Merchandising team and other functions as needed to ensure complete, synergized and articulated store presentation.

**Requirements:
- Degree in Design or Art School education preferred; creative and has formal training in architecture or interior design.
- Minimum 5-6 years of experience in Interior or Architectural detailing and design. Relevant experience in the beauty and luxury industry will be an added advantage.
- Ability to design and draw scaled working construction drawing.
- Experience on CAD programs preferably on Macintosh platform, and skilled in VectorWorks and Photoshop.
- Understands retail store design aspects, i.e. lighting, furniture design, detailing fixtures, etc. as well as the importance of maintaining consistency.
- Has experience in graphics, layouts and interior signage.
- Understands traffic flow and human scale.
- Presents in a professional manner with an understanding of corporate image and conduct.
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English and a regional language.
- Manages time and team productivity by challenging current processes and proposing better methods, communication and collaboration.
- Confident in communicating and conveying technical & design issues to markets and professionals.
- Good team player who works well with other designers and merchandisers.
- Boosts and supports initiatives and changes, as well as leading and acting on the set direction.
- Must be adaptable to new computer technology and design programs.
- Willing to travel often, even with short notice.
