**What the role is**
- The Rehabilitation and Protection Group (RPG) undertakes the statutory functions in the rehabilitation of adult and youth offenders, and the protection of children, families and vulnerable adults (VAs). Our mission is to empower individuals and families to break cycles of abuse, neglect and offending.
As part of the RPG family, the Adult Protective Service (APS) is a statutory service and it leads in the policies and processes to safeguard the safety and well-being of individuals, families and vulnerable adults experiencing violence, abuse or neglect.

**What you will be working on**
- Reporting to the Assistant Manager, you will be part of a team responsible for planning and spearheading APS’ strategic communications and engagement plans. You will have the opportunity to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop publicity plans and coordinate APS’ responses on policy queries and media communications.
As an Officer/ Senior Officer, you will:

- Plan and facilitate engagement strategies with diverse stakeholders
- Plan and manage website content on APS related news and updates
- Manage engagement calendar data and progress reports
- Provide secretariat support to inter-agency workgroups such as the Family Violence Working Group
- Work with the RPG’s public communications and engagement team to engage stakeholders and the media
- Coordinate and draft responses to media and public queries
- Provide secretariat support to meetings with management
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by your supervisor

**What we are looking for**
- Tertiary qualifications, with at least 2 years of relevant experience in stakeholder engagement and public communications.
- Strong communications skills
- Ability to think strategically and identify ways to improve communications efforts
- Good planning and project management skills
- Proactive and resourceful, with a ‘can do’ spirit
- Ability to write clearly for different types of communication, e.g. speeches, parliamentary responses, media queries
- Comfortable working in a team and with external partners in government and the community
