About the Team **Responsibilities**: In this role, you will advise Global Payments team on a range of issues including payments, regulatory, risk assessment/compliance related to the Bytedance payment activities in Singapore and other Southeast Asia ("SEA") markets. This includes: - Actively collaborating and providing guidance with a wide variety of internal stakeholders, including product, compliance, marketing, business development on a range of issues related to product development and commercialization of global payment projects and services - Working closely with colleagues across the global legal team to advise on payment issues in connection with the launch of features, projects or programs - Assisting and providing guidance to the Global Payments team regarding payments licensing and dealing with regulators. - Structuring, drafting, and negotiating channel partner agreements with our payment partners. - Help build scalable and effective processes for legal review and launch of new payment features and products. - Participate as a proactive business partner for senior managers and build a trusted advisor relationship with the SEA Global Payments business. **Qualifications**: - Qualified lawyer in Singapore with a minimum of 4-5 years experience (either in-house or top law firm) with 2+ years in the fintech/payments industry. Global or regional exposure and experience gained in the Fintech startup space is highly advantageous. - Familiar with the electronic financial services sector to counsel and assist with payments-related matters and money service business compliance requirements, anti-money laundering rules, know-your-customer requirements, and stored value facilities in Singapore and/or other SEA markets. Exposure and/or experience to other Southeast Asia countries besides Singapore, such as Indonesia or Thailand, will be advantageous. - An entrepreneurial spirit - a self-starter who thrives in a fast paced environment, deals well with ambiguity and focuses on driving impact. - A passion for technology and the ability to understand complex business models and product use cases quickly. - Excellent judgment and capable of making smart decisions with imperfect information. - Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and presentation skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and to convey legal facts clearly and simply. - Possess strong analytic capabilities and ability to use good judgement to respond at speed and as a business partner. - Independent, hard-working, well organized and able to prioritize and manage numerous projects simultaneously and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
