**Job Opening: Bookstore Assistant - Chinese Bookstore (Packing & Operations Support)**

Salary Range: $2,000 - $2,200/month (depending on experience)

Hourly Pay Estimate: $10.50 - $11.55/hour (based on 44-hour work week)

**About Us**

Maha Yu Yi is a long-established Chinese bookstore located in Bras Basah Complex, with both wholesale and retail operations, as well as an active e-commerce platform. We serve walk-in customers, schools, libraries, and institutions with a wide selection of Chinese-language books. As our operations grow, we are looking for a reliable team member to support our back-end logistics and warehouse activities.

**Job Scope**

**- Packing & Mailing Support**
- Pick and pack customer orders from retail, online, and wholesale channels
- Prepare shipping labels and assist in order fulfilment for courier collection
- Ensure accuracy of incoming and outgoing stock and delivery records

**- Warehouse & Inventory Support**
- Receive and unpack incoming book shipments
- Tag, label, and shelve books in the warehouse or backstore
- Perform stock checks and assist with inventory recording and updates
- Maintain accurate records for both incoming and outgoing goods

**- Operations & Housekeeping**
- Support daily store and warehouse operations as needed
- Assist with general housekeeping to keep packing and shelving areas neat and functional

**- Book Cover Scanning & Processing**
- Scan book covers and selected pages using copier or scanner
- Rename and organise scanned files for upload to the online store
- Ensure equipment is maintained in working condition

**Requirements**:

- Physically fit and able to handle light lifting(boxes of books)
- Detail-oriented and organised in packing and scanning tasks
- Comfortable using copier/scanner machine and basic computer tools
- Team player with a positive, responsible attitude
- Prior experience in warehouse, packing, or bookstore support is a bonus
- Able to read Chinese (for scanning and labelling)

**Salary & Work Conditions**
- Monthly salary: SGD 2,000 - 2,200, depending on experience
- Hourly pay estimate: SGD 10.50 - 11.55 (based on 44-hour work week)
- Location: Bras Basah Complex
- Staff discount on bookstore items

Work Schedule
- We operate daily from 9:30am - 6:30pm / 7:00pm (including weekends)
- This is a 5.5-day role
