**Job Opening: Sales Executive - Chinese Bookstore**:

**Salary Range**: $2,400 - $2,800/month (depending on experience)

**About Us**:
We are a Chinese bookstore located in Bras Basah Complex, Singapore’s iconic book and cultural hub, serving readers, educators, and cultural enthusiasts. Surrounded by art schools, museums, and libraries, our store offers a curated selection of Chinese-language books, cultural products, and literary events for both locals and institutions. We’re expanding our outreach and looking for a passionate, bilingual team member to join us.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide warm and professional service to walk-in customers, offering tailored book recommendations.
- Maintain excellent knowledge of books, authors, and themes across adult categories (literature, history, lifestyle, etc.).
- Assist in daily operations of the bookstore: opening/closing, display setup, and cleanliness.
- Ensure smooth POS operation and accurate daily sales reconciliation.
- Organize and refresh in-store book displays, posters, and featured sections (e.g., Bestsellers, Staff Picks).
- Assist with customer queries in Mandarin and English.
- Coordinate with marketing for in-store promotions, online campaigns, and seasonal displays.
- Assist in preparing daily sales reports and flagging bestsellers or low-stock titles.
- Help in packaging orders or supervising part-timers during peak periods or weekends.
- Participate in mini book training sessions to deepen book knowledge.
- Assist in bookstore events, launches, or public outreach activities when needed.
- Occasionally support book fairs or external events when required.
- Passionate about Chinese books, reading, and cultural themes.
- At least 2 years of customer-facing retail experience (bookstore or similar retail is a plus).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to multitask in a small team setting.
- Comfortable working weekends (off-days on weekdays will be arranged).

**Ideal Qualifications**:

- Minimum: O-Level
- Preferred: Diploma in Business, Retail Management, or Chinese Studies (or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of retail or customer-facing experience
- Bonus if experience is in bookstores, libraries, or Chinese-language retail settings
- Proficient in both Mandarin and English (spoken and basic written)
- Interest in or familiarity with Chinese books and culture
- Confident using POS systems and basic computer tools
- Willing to work weekends and public holidays on rotation
