Senior/principal Esg/sustainability Consultant

Local Unit & Position Description:
Maritime Advisory Singapore is an independent consulting unit overseeing activities in the South East Asia, Pacific and India (SEAPI) region. DNV’s ambition is to be a data-smart solutions organisation providing management and technical advisory services within the maritime industry and the shipping value chain. Our key stakeholders include charterers and cargo owners, asset owners for ships and mobile offshore units, maritime authorities/governmental entities and defence, shipyards, banks/investment/leasing companies with interest on maritime assets and infrastructure, LNG and clean energy suppliers, and maritime technology providers and the digital eco-system/start-ups. We are currently focusing our consulting and research activities within the areas of maritime decarbonisation, ESG/Sustainability and Digital Transformation.

This position will support the sustainable growth of Maritime Advisory services in SEAPI by selling and delivering projects (directly or facilitating cross business project teams) in ESG/Sustainability and other related service lines including decarbonisation, compliance and shipping advisory.

As a senior/principal consultant, you will be part of an experienced and diverse team managing and delivering customized solutions to our clients in Singapore and within the region. This will be achieved via a combination of planned marketing activities (service lines, topics, KAM network, market segment, specific target companies), ad hoc inquiries from internal and external sources, proactive networking and general presence.

The ability to integrate DNV digital tools from all sectors (Maritime, Energy, SCPA, BA, DS). Business development in terms of generating/reacting to leads via proposal development, client presentations. As MA is arranged into global departments, support to/from sister units in Europe, Australia, the Middle East and Americas is expected. This support will encompass proposal development, project delivery and participation in selected forums.

Position Qualifications:
A key to success will be the willingness and ability to establish strong cross business relationships that can support business development and project delivery. Whilst focus is on the broader topic of ESG/Sustainability, the ability to align more traditional maritime advisory services to this theme is key to success.
- Experience within maritime and related sector
- Previous ESG and/or Sustainability roles an advantage
- Disciplined project manager
- Exposure to decarbonization, ESG/Sustainability, strategic market studies
- Knowledge of technical maritime environments and compliance/reporting requirements
- Understanding of regulatory framework for financial and non-financial reporting; both at corporate level and for the supply chain
- Willingness to collaborate with other business units and regions
- Eagerness to learn new solutions and technologies
- Relevant tertiary and/or technical qualifications
- Engage stakeholders and lead in internal/external discussions.
