Analyst - Principal Analyst (Strategic & Corporate Planning)

The Policy and Planning Department is responsible for developing EMA's strategic policies to advance our strategic goals of forging an energy system that is sustainable, resilient, dynamic and efficient. As part of a team of analysts:
- You will play a key role in driving the development of long-term strategies for the energy sector to achieve EMA's objectives, against the backdrop of an evolving energy landscape. You will drive the coordination of different stakeholders to develop a coherent energy system architecture that will guide EMA's actionable long-term and near-term plans. You will conduct comprehensive mapping and analysis of energy system components across multiple subsystems, collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of energy system plans with EMA's commitment to achieving net-zero by 2050, and conduct in-depth analysis of existing energy systems and propose innovative system solutions for optimisation.
- You will get a close-up look at the range of initiatives across the EMA to balance the energy trilemma, i.e. energy sustainability, security and affordability, and help ensure that we are on track to meet our objectives and have the necessary delivery capacity to implement our plans. You will stay abreast of industry advancements and integrate innovative technologies to enhance the efficiency and resilience of our energy systems as we move towards net zero.
- We are looking for people with an open and creative mind. You must be unafraid to learn new things. You have to be comfortable with navigating ambiguity, able to define problem spaces, assess trade-offs and respond nimbly. You must also be willing to do deep-dives into relevant areas to extract new insights. You must dare to voice your views and push for change.
**Requirements**:
- Keen interest to shape Singapore's energy landscape and public service
- Education in Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field
- Relevant working experience in the energy sector or in systems analysis/engineering of any other sector, would be an advantage
- Excellent analytical and communication skills (written and verbal) are critical for this position, as in strong ability to organise and juggle multiple workstreams at one time
- Natural curiosity to keep asking questions instead of accepting things at face value and creativity to think outside of the box on solutions to address challenges
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage, collaborate, build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Self-motivated, effective and committed team player
