Distribution Strategy Development
- Develop and execute comprehensive distribution strategies with a strong emphasis on leveraging IT capabilities to optimize market penetration and revenue generation.
- Conduct market research and analysis, focusing on technology trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape to inform distribution strategy decisions.
- Evaluate existing distribution channels, identify gaps and propose technology driven solutions for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align distribution strategies with overall business objectives, emphasizing digital transformation and focusing on the customer experience.
2. Partnership Development and Management
- Identify and work with potential strategic partners IT teams on mutually beneficial relationships to enhance the distribution network and extend the market reach.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to review and finalise partnership agreements, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate and lead partnership meetings, leveraging technology platforms and tools to facilitate collaboration and communication.
3. Technology Driven Product and Service Development
- Work closely with development teams to align distribution strategies with new technology platforms and/or enhance existing platforms.
- Provide insights and recommendations on technology trends and digital innovations to meet customer needs and preferences.
- Analyse market feedback and customer data, leveraging data analytics and business intelligence tools to identify opportunities for improvements and potential cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
4. Collaboration and Self-Improvement
- Stay up to date with emerging IT trends and digital technologies to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantages.
- Collaborate closely with IT and the business (e.g. sales, underwriting and operations teams) to ensure alignment across all technology driven distribution efforts.- Technical Expertise: Deep industry knowledge on insurance operations and the related technologies and their competencies. Should have prior programming experience (ideally in Java or C#). Must have knowledge and exposure to enterprise architecture, systems architecture and integration architecture standards, frameworks and best practices.
- Experience: Total overall experience of 12-15yrs with a minimum of 5yrs insurance technology experience with proven experience in insurance distribution strategy and partnership development. Strong knowledge of insurance products and services including property and casualty, health and commercial lines. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful distribution strategies leveraging technology platforms which resulted in increased revenues or market share.
- Global/Regional: Ideally have at least 3-5yrs of regional/global experience with responsibilities over multi-country architecture and delivery.
- Business Engagement: Effective engagement and alignment of IT with executive sponsors and business stakeholders. Able to effectively manage relationships with external stakeholders (i.e. vendors and consultants) and internal stakeholders (e.g. development and operational teams).
- Communication: Can effectively discuss complex problems and solutions with different audiences at the appropriate level of detail i.e. technical vs non-technical audience. Able to give presentations to large groups of listeners and lead discussions to drive to a final decision or outcome.
