To ensure Coda’s payment technology is truly available to everyone requires the success of our consumer journeys, publisher partners and internal business units. The Data Engineering team at Coda supports its partners and business units by providing artificial intelligence, machine learning and other data driven solutions using Coda’s rich and complex data sources.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing the overall data engineering strategy and lead a high performance team of data engineers to deliver projects on real time performance monitoring and fraud detection, data observability, self-serve analytics and the Coda data platform, among other high impact projects.

You will report to the Chief Technology Officer at Coda Payments and you will be responsible for managing senior stakeholders in the organization.

**Responsibiltiies**:

- Assure high quality work is delivered by the Data Engineering team, by following best practices of software development and data solution design principles
- Assure data accuracy and quality
- Build a high performance Data Engineering team by motivating,mentoring, and hiring top talent
- Develop an overall Data Engineering strategy aligned with Coda’s business objectives
- Deep understanding of leading and modern technologies to deliver high quality standards on data platform related solutions
- Work closely with the Head of Data to build Coda’s data strategy to support key business initiatives
- Enable self-serve analytics within the different business areas to get meaningful insights
- Partner with engineering, security and compliance teams to ensure overall alignment of data solutions with organization policies and external entities requirements
- Democratize data access among the organization by designing and implementing a data governance strategy following the best practices of the industry
- Assure production monitoring of data services at CodaLead the evolution of Coda to become a data driven organization
- Be on top of leading technologies to enable continuous improvement on data engineering and data management related efforts
- Oversee technical strategy and architecture across data integration, data lake, data warehousing and data access layers

**Requirements**:

- At least 15 years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Architecture
- At least 10 years experience in leading high performance data teams and managing stakeholders at all levels of an organization
- Prior experience in leading cross functional teams
- Strong background in data governance
- Fluency in both written and spoken English

**Proficient in**:

- Complex, high volume, multi-dimensional data, unstructured, structured, and streaming datasets
- Creating large scale data pipelines for data-based decision-making and quantitative analysis
- Programming languages such as Python, Scala, Shell scripting, SQL etc
- Streaming systems like AWS Kinesis, Kafka and Spark-Streaming
- Large scale SQL databases like MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata
- NoSQL databases like Hadoop, MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Solr etc
- Data warehouse tools such as Apache Spark, Airflow, Hive, Beam
- Deploying and maintaining tableau server Visualization tools like Grafana, Kibana, AWS Quicksight etc
- Code version control systems such as Git Data structures and data architecture
- Migrating legacy data warehouses to the cloud

**Experienced in**:

- Productionising machine learning models
- Creating/supporting production software/systems and a proven track record of CICD/ Data Architectures/ Pipelines/ Quality /Code Management.
- Data Science including predictive modeling
