Breaking News Earnings Specialist

In this role, you will be at the center of the intersection of data and journalism. You will work with the entire newsroom to help journalists use the data and tools at their fingertips. This is one of the most innovative and dynamic areas of our field, where automation, data and news judgment come together to produce unbelievable results in the blink of an eye. You'll also be connecting the dots of wider earnings trends in Asia and writing stories that capture those trends.

**We will trust you to**:

- Scan through stock exchange filings for earnings statements and other market-moving updates from companies that matter, while keeping track of schedules, conference calls and analysts' estimates
- Use Bloomberg's technology, aided by artificial intelligence and automation, to write previews of upcoming earnings, and then publish earnings stories in real-time.
- Communicate with colleagues across the newsroom and other departments to help us improve the quality and depth of our earnings product.
- Be an ambassador for the latest and the best, new processes that saves time, or the new dataset that adds context.
- Stitch together broader themes from the earnings of individual companies and write those stories
- Deliver accurate and sharp stories under tight deadlines

**You'll need to have**:

- At least 3 years of recent experience in financial journalism that includes directly working with earnings reports, or 3 years of equivalent experience that includes published analysis of company earnings reports.
- Experience working at or supporting a real-time news service
- Experience analyzing company financial statements
- A demonstrated ability to quickly pick the right data from complex profit & loss statements and balance sheets
- Experience in working with automated content and semi-automation tools
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
- Ability to effectively convey technical details to a broad audience in conversational English, both in speaking and writing
- Being a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to proactively communicate and collaborate with different stakeholders
