Asia Finance

Reuters is looking for a strong journalist with great sources and ideas to join its finance and markets breaking news team in Asia. The role is based in Singapore and within the Asia breaking news team that handles the daily news file, from snaps to market reports, as well as stories aimed at media customers and consumers. This role requires a deep understanding of financial markets and the industry.

**About the Role**

As our **Asia breaking news correspondent**,** you will:

- Analyse markets and policies across a range of idiosyncratic countries, from China to Vietnam and South Asian nations
- Explain daily market developments across asset classes to both professional and mainstream audiences
- Work closely with finance and markets colleagues in the broader team and strategic centres.
- Report to the Asia breaking news and markets editor

To be our **Asia breaking news correspondent**, you will likely have:

- At least 10 years' experience in financial journalism
- A strong understanding of market dynamics, economic policies and politics of countries in Asia, particularly China, and their interplay with the developed world
- Deep understanding of financial markets, ideally across asset classes
- Strong writing skills
- The ability to thrive in a breaking news environment and be keen on processes and market dynamics.
- A strong work ethic, team spirit and excellent organization skills
- Familiarity with financial data products such as Eikon
