ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sr. Manager, Software Defined Infrastructure will lead the team that designs and builds HPC and cloud orchestration systems. The incumbent will take responsibility for ancillary activities, including commissioning.
- Be responsible for the design and development of the cloud orchestration layer that underpins the SMC IaaS product.
- Be responsible for the deployment and management of customer HPC clusters.
- Manage the HPC and Cloud Orchestration team. This includes using Kanban to manage the workflow, optimising for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, adjusting priorities as needed based on operational requirements and team capacity.
- Collaborate with the Applications Team and the Critical Systems Team to build a commercial grade cloud product.
- Manage the commissioning of new servers. This involves effective collaboration with other departments including Operations.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the design and development of cloud orchestration platforms.
- Experience in managing a team of cloud professionals.
- Deep understanding of cloud technologies, including Kubernetes and OpenStack.
- Experience with the commissioning of HPC clusters.
