Exciting role in the Compliance Conduct Operational Risk - Monitoring and Testing team

**Job Summary**:
As a Senior Associate, Hong Kong based tester you will be performing testing activities for the Asia Pacific Commerical & Investment Bank (CIB) line of business.

Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) Monitoring and Testing (M&T) activities represent an independent risk-based evaluation by the second line, of the firm’s practices to gain assurances that its control environment is sound through identification of process, risk and controls to manage compliance with laws and regulations, as well as internal policies, standards and procedures.

We execute the M&T Program by working closely with Line of Business Compliance, Business Control Managers, Operational Risk Management, Technology and Audit partners to develop and perform design assessment and operating effectiveness testing of controls and processes that mitigate risks, assessing adherence to applicable regulations, legal obligations, and business requirements.

**Responsibilities**:

- You will lead or participate in regional/global M&T assignments, and coordinate with other M&T teams globally to assist in projects as necessary.
- You will execute the M&T Program and produce clear and organized work papers to document and support work performed and conclusion reached
- You will have the opportunity to work with CCOR colleagues/Subject Matter Experts to ensure up to date and comprehensive understanding of business and risk areas.
- You will drive the use of data to innovate and optimize current M&T practices.
- You will determine root cause for control issues identified and work with stakeholders to develop appropriate corrective actions.
- You will also have opportunity to present testing results to various stakeholders, including but not limited to CCOR colleagues and Senior Management, Business Control Officers and Senior Management.
- You are also encouraged to identify opportunities to deploy process changes, system enhancement, business productivity and efficiency tools and automation (e.g. robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning etc.).

**Required qualifications, capabilities and skills**:

- We are looking for a senior associate with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Compliance M&T, Audit, Operational Risk or equivalent experience within financial services industry.
- We’re interested in people with knowledge of investment banking/asset management/wealth management banking activities; and able to demonstrate an ability to interpret regulatory requirements and assess operational compliance with those requirements.
- You will need to have strong attention to details, strong project management and problem-solving skills and be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of control design and root cause analysis.
- We’re looking for independent, analytical thinkers who possess good interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish credibility with senior business and Compliance Conduct Operational Risk partners.
- You will be able to communicate with people effectively and deliver testing results to our stakeholders and senior management. Having strong business ethics and integrity when dealing with confidential and sensitive information is also an essential quality.
- You should have experience working with complex data sets and environments, drawing conclusions and reporting findings.
- You should be enthusiastic, confident, and prepared to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment delivering first class solutions.

**Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills**:

- Previous experience conducting regulatory examinations, compliance/operational risk testing, or internal audits of financial institutions is preferred.
- Experience in data analytical and data visualization tools will be an advantage.
