**What the role is**
- The Asian Civilisations Museum is the only museum in the region devoted to exploring the rich artistic heritage of Asia, especially the ancestral cultures of Singaporeans. Opened in 1997 and in its present building by the Singapore River since 2003, the museum traces its roots to the Raffles Museum, founded in the middle of 19th century. ACM focuses on the many historical and artistic connections between the cultures of Asia, and between Asia and the world.
Singapore’s history as a port city that brought people together from all over the world is used as a means of examining the history of Asia. Objects on display tell stories of the trade and the exchange of ideas that were the result of international commerce, as well as the flow of religions and faith through Asia.
Asian Civilisation Museum manages the Peranakan Museum. The Peranakan Museum (TPM) explores the art and culture of Peranakan communities in Southeast Asia and possesses one of the finest and most comprehensive collections of Peranakan objects. Galleries on three floors illustrate the cultural traditions and distinctive visual arts of Peranakans.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate closely with a team of exhibition technical services officers to design specialist lighting and create ambiance for galleries, exhibitions and programmes.
- Manage the art-handling process during installation and de-installation of gallery displays and exhibitions, including mounting artefacts and displays.
- Support daily maintenance works in the galleries including set up and maintenance of interactive kiosks / multimedia players where required.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills when interacting with internal and external stakeholders, designers, contractors, etc.
- Provide basic computer drafting and visuals for gallery spaces and artefact displays when required.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 3 years of relevant technical background and experience, preferably in the art and culture industry.
- Working knowledge of various types of lighting to enhance different displays and events.
- Meticulous attention to detail in technical drawings, environmental conditions, and artwork installation processes.
- Efficient, organized, highly motivated, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working at heights and operating equipment such as ladders, cherry picker lifts, MEWPs, and scissor lifts.
- Proficiency in producing basic computer drawings and visuals using CAD and 3D rendering software is a plus.
- Familiarity with authority compliances (BCA, FSSD, SCDF guidelines) is an added advantage.
