Munich Re Singapore Branch, part of Munich Re, the world’s largest reinsurer, is recruiting for a Head of Health for Southeast Asia to manage its Health reinsurance business.

The position is based in Singapore and reports to the Managing Director, Life and Health, Southeast Asia.

Your job

Business development
- Develop, define and implement high-quality business strategies to grow MR’s Health reinsurance business in Southeast Asia
- Responsible for profitable acquisition and management of Health reinsurance business across Southeast Asia for both conventional and Retakaful segments
- Collaborate with other teams in Munich Re to develop value adding propositions around products and digital solutions for Southeast Asia
- Explore partnership opportunities with players in Health ecosystem in Southeast Asia
- Expand and manage client and ecosystem relationships relevant for Health business
- Be accountable for the business’ financial performance and risk profile

Portfolio management and compliance
- Establish and maintain robust and efficient monitoring process
- Monitor the ongoing performance of the inforce portfolio
- Supervise the annual PNOC process
- Ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines/policies/regulations

People leadership
- Lead and manage a highly culturally diverse Team in Southeast Asia
- Responsible for ensuring (or developing) the staff members reporting to this position to have superior specialist knowledge and qualifications
- Develop and implement guidelines and authorities. Guide and define internal processes based on the analysis of the relevant figures and information. Ensure that agreed guidelines and procedures are being adhered to

Industry and thought leadership
- Represent MR at industry forums and conferences and seminars
- Enhance Munich Re’s brand such that it becomes the go to reinsurer for Health insurance

**Profile**:

- Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of in-depth Health industry experience
- A fully qualified actuary (FSA, FIA, FIAA or equivalent) or medical doctor
- An entrepreneurial mindset with strong organizational and strong leadership skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving, research, and project/process management skills
- Significant client relationships across Southeast Asia
- Knowledge of Health reinsurance propositions
- Understanding of Health ecosystem including TPA’s, provider networks and startups will be an advantage
- High degree of client orientation
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
