[What the role is]

The officer is required to develop evidence-based religious policies and robust research work on frontier issues and engage stakeholders and collaborate with partners in policy formulation and implementation. She/he will also provide administrative support to the unit and organisation.

[What you will be working on]

**Policy Development**
- Conduct research and analysis to develop and/or review current and/or future religious policies that aligned with Islamic principles and contextual with local setting.
- Craft and present policy-oriented research paper to internal stakeholders for consideration.
- Provide policy-oriented research to support fatwa research unit (collaboration project)

**Stakeholder Engagement**
- Engage external stakeholders to support the implementation and adaptation of developed policies within the community, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
- Collaborate with religious leaders, scholars, and community stakeholders to understand diverse perspectives and gather insights for policy formulation.
- Provide expert guidance and advice to government bodies, religious institutions, and community organisations on matters related to progressive religious policies.

**Administrative Duties**
- Support and provide oversight of project(s) such as conference, seminar etc. i.e., notes of meeting, reports, research agenda etc.

[What we are looking for]
- Tertiary education in Islamic Studies, Religious Studies, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Some experience in policy-oriented work within a religious or cultural setting is advantageous.
- Sound understanding of local religious and cultural sensitivities.
- Effectively bilingual - ability to communicate and write well in English and Malay. Proficiency in Arabic is highly recommended.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Highly disciplined, self-starter, multitasker, and strong interpersonal skills.
